Solicitation Approval Form

In accordance with the Troop Revenue Earning Policy, a troop/group/service unit may use the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles (GSGLA) Tax Identification Number (95-1644033) for the purpose of solicitation with GSGLA approval. Submitting this eForm enables GSGLA to confirm that no conflicts of interest exist between troop/group/Juliette/service unit solicitation plans and GSGLA development fundraising strategies.

For this reason, troops/groups/Juliettes/service units must submit this solicitation approval form prior to soliciting monetary donations (e.g. donations, grant opportunities, or sponsorships). Please see Volunteer Essentials to familiarize yourself with gift amount limits.

In accordance with IRS regulations, donations must be payable to Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles if:

• The donation is $250+
• The donor requires a tax receipt

The donor should indicate that the donation is for your troop, but make the check payable to:

When the check is received by GSGLA and the troop/group/SU submits a Donation to Troop/Group/SU Form, the money earned will be passed through to the benefiting troop. See Volunteer Essentials for more information on direct donations to troop/group/service units.

As of February 21, 2018, troops/groups/service units do not need to request approval (via this eForm) to solicit gifts-in-kind from local businesses.
